Best Patty Melt/ MOJO Style

This is my favorite Patty Melt recipe. A Patty Melt is one of the best versions of a Cheeseburger and MOJO loves burgers. This Patty Melt contains all my needed flavors. Beef with the sweetness of caramelized onions and the creaminess of our favorite cheeses. Can't forget about that perfectly toasted bread and that little bit of back heat that wakes up those taste buds. How can something this simple be so good. MOJO Beef rub

Mississippi Grit

1 thinly sliced yellow onion

Killer Hogs Hot sauce

Worcestershire Sauce


Ground beef

Sturdy White bread (bought or homemade)


Colby Jack Cheese

Pepper Jack Cheese

Season ground beef patties with Mississippi Grit and MOJO Beef and set aside.

Add 2 tbsp of butter to a skillet on low heat. Add onions and stir for about 7 minutes. Add a splash of Worcestershire sauce and a few splashes of hot sauce. Sprinkle some MOJO BBQ rub on the onions and then stir until they are soft and caramelized. Set them aside and start to work on your burgers.

Grill your seasoned burgers patties to desired temp. and set aside.

Spread mayo on bread slices. Add a slice of bread (mayo side down) to a cold pan. Add 2 slices of pepper jack cheese, then turner the burner to medium-low heat. Pile on some of the caramelized onions, they make this patty melt! Next, comes the burger patty. I put some pickle slices on at this point, but you do you! And because you can never have too much cheese, use 2 more slices--colby jack this time. Put on the lid (mayo side up).

The bottom slice should have started to brown at this point. When it is golden brown, give it a flip and let the other side brown up and the cheese melt.
